"Sometimes you discover something really brilliant when you make a mistake" says Steven Den Toom, Luthier. Talking about the decorative designs that is something very distinctive in his guitar making, Steven feels that the journey towards the design is also a learning process that can be applied to everyday life. Steven was very inquisitive about how things work from a very young age and soon after he started playing guitar, he also became fascinated about all the facets of these instruments- After finishing his studies and qualifying as a Luthier, he started creating his own decorative designs on the guitars he is building. Steven loves working with Mother-of-Pearl: "I was trying to establish a relationship with beauty for myself" and all the beautiful features of this material gave him much inspiration to work with.
