Nina Tonoli - Ballet Dancer - You always have to keep growing as a dancer
"It's good to concentrate on your ballet life but it's also nice to be open to other things, to be able to do more cultural things or just to get some inspiration from outside" says Nina Tonoli, ballet dancer at Dutch National ballet. Sometimes you might take a gamble if you move from one company to another but there are so many factors that could be positive when doing it. Nina initially trained in Belgium and then went on to do her training at the Royal Ballet Upper School in Covent Garden. Nina feels that even though ballet is an artform, the physical demand on a dancer's body is has been increased in recent years because of the dancing styles compared to year ago. It is therefor very important to have a plan and support for when injuries occur. Hear more about her advice for young dancers who are just starting their career as professional ballet dancers and also her wishes for the future.
Nina's shout out goes to Kriterion in Amsterdam. A film theatre that originated during the second world war.
