Marc Sabbah - Violist and Painter
Violist Marc Sabbah is talking about his paintings and how he started by buying canvas and paints and then experimented with abstract works of art. His paintings changed over time and he felt that the emotions he couldn't express in words, he could express through his paintings. It wasn't about the technique or an image that he had in mind, but rather about getting his emotions out. Marc says that as a musician you are constantly looking for colour and shapes in the music, talking about timbre and tone in music, speaking in abstract terms. For him painting with these strong colours is very daring but there is also the aspect of having to balance the creativity with taste.
Marc is showing some of his beautiful paintings during this interview and at the end he also plays a wonderful peace on his viola .
This was indeed such a special interview and I loved that Marc shared so much of his art with me.
