Madeleine du Toit - Viticulturist - The old vine vineyards of each region are truly unique.

"The old vine blocks that you find in each region truly are unique. You can truly see the difference that different soils can have on such an old block, how it develops and the ability it has to become an old vineyard block. So it really is a fulfilling project to be part of. " says Madeleine du Toit, viticulturist at Wine and vine Solutions. Madeleine is talking about the role of the viticulturist in the winemaking industry and why she decided to follow this career path. She is also passionate about the Old Vine Project and supports and advice wine farmers on how to preserve and nurture these old vines for the future. Madeleine explains on the hand of wines from Du Toits kloof Cellar and Perdeberg Cellar how the different regents has an effect on the tastes of the wines from the old vines.
