Conductor Jimmy Chiang is talking about conduction the opera Carmen at the Taranto opera festival in Italy. He is explaining the importance of connecting with the orchestra and the singer. He says that his instrument is the orchestra and not his baton, and that he is accompanying the singers through conduction the orchestra.
