Giedrė Mažeikaitė-González - Pianist: I appreciate the honesty in people and to be real to myself.
Even though, her piano repertoire is large and diverse (XVIIth - XXIst century), Giedrė Mažeikaitė González will always have a soft spot for the classical music patriarchs: J.S. Bach, J. Haydn, F. Schubert. In her interpretations her biggest priority is always to highlight the beauty of music with all of its purity and power. This kind of perspective makes her interpretation full of sentimental lyricism, vivid energy, bright contrasts and most importantly honesty.
Giedrė met piano at the early age of five and immediately fell in love with the instrument. Her musical path began in Kaišiadorys School of Arts, Lithuania, guided by Professor Daiva Uždravė. At age eleven Giedrė enrolled in M.K.Čiurlionis National School of Arts in Vilnius the most prestigious school in the country for professional musical studies under Vaida Kirvelytė's tuition.
For her Bachelor's degree of piano interpretation Giedrė was accepted to Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC) in Barcelona, Spain. For four years she had the pleasure of studying with an incredible pianist Vladislav Bronevetzky, who was a direct pupil of piano legend Eliso Virsaladze. Giedrė finished her Master's degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music Madrid (RCSMM) in Spain, where under the wing of the magnificent pianist Mariana Gurkova she specialized in Spanish repertoire for piano.
