Erik Dippenaar - Cape Town Baroque Orchestra -The beauty of Baroque music: earthy but also profound.
"I think Baroque music, there's a kind of physical aspect to it, which is at the same time very earthy but also quite profound because it links with your body in a way." says Erik Dippenaar, director of the Cape Town Baroque orchestra. It was from his first music teacher, in a small town in the countryside of South Africa, where Erik first discovered the sound of the harpsicord and from there it became the instrument which inspired him to dig deep into the Baroque genre. Hear more about Erik's studies in the UK, and his return to South Africa where he is now bringing Baroque music and instruments to the audiences in South Africa.
Erik also expresses his wishes for the future and for music education.
Erik's shout out goes to Marias Dunkley Square
