This here is proof that one person can make a difference in the world. Violinist Dalina Ugarte heard about the situation in her home country Venezuela where there are a big need for less fortunate musicians to get strings for their instruments. She started asking musicians to donate their used strings for this is how the project Strings 4 all started. In 2020 I photographed Dalina as part of my project Moments in Lockdown and she told me about the difficult time she also went through during the pandemic. This project is a way for her to do something meaningful for less fortunate musicians in her home country because she also received help as a young girl to have the opportunity to study music. Dalina is telling how grateful she is to be able to do music in the beautiful concert halls in Austria and she is so positive that 2022 will be the year where her wishes come true.
