"The thing with ballet I find, it's a real team effort because sometimes the runs are very long, or there are many shows. There isn't only one conductor for the production, there are sometimes 2 or 3 plus the assistant. So it's a real team effort and that's what I love", says conductor Charlotte Politi. Charlotte is currently part of the Lambert Fellowship at the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet and she is talking about the great experience of working at these two world renowned companies. "If you wake up in the morning and you're really excited about going to do your job, it's a good sign, for sure." During the audition process for the Fellowship she already realised that working with the ballet as a conductor is something she would love to do. Charlotte also tells how she always loved being part of an orchestra and how studying conducting was the natural path for her to follow.
