Alessandra Ashkenazy - Ballet Teacher - ABT teaching curriculum
Alessandra Ashkenazy is talking about the importance of understanding the responsibility when teaching ballet to young children and to form dancers. She is using the ABT's (American Ballet Theatre) curriculum that was designed and written by Franco De Vita and Raymond Lukens in collaboration with ABT’s Artistic Advisors and the Medical Advisory Board. Alessandra knows when she is teaching these young students that they will not all become ballet dancers but for her it is important that they enjoy the process and she wants them to have a positive attitude towards dance in general and ballet as a form of art. They will be the audiences of tomorrow, or the journalists or the parents of the next generation of dancers. This is such a great approach that Alessandra has towards teaching and I admire her so much for how she is conducting her school.
